The Watershed Alliance of York is a coalition of stakeholders committed to being innovative leaders educating the public and encouraging watershed-based planning, restoration and protection in York County, Pennsylvania, and beyond.

The Watershed Alliance of York is a public-private partnership for those who want to help make their
communities more livable. Here a broad range of issues are addressed and resources are provided to
help make this happen. This web site was developed to serve as a communications center and
information clearinghouse to increase the visibility of what has worked for other communities, and to
promote a lively exchange of information to help create community sustainability in both urban and
rural areas. We welcome your comments and suggestions to make it as useful as possible.
Our website is your gateway to York County's Watersheds and the Chesapeake Bay. Many people and
organizations are working hard to restore and protect our watersheds and foster community health,
sustainable economies, and the quality of life and environment that we all enjoy and share. It opens
doors to topics and resource areas that can help connect you to local initiatives, tools, people and
organizations.
You will be introduced to innovative examples of creating sustainable communities around the county.
You will also be able to link directly to descriptions of these programs and projects and tools that will
help you in your community. By clicking on 'Suggest a Resource' you can help build the 'toolkit' for
sustainability.
We hope that you find our website a good starting point for learning about the many dimensions and
integrative nature of building sustainable communities. Enjoy your journey!
