Gary R. Peacock, Executive Director
Gary graduated Sigma Xi from the Rutgers The State University of New Jersey with a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy (1982).
He then attended Rutgers' Graduate School of New Brunswick in New Jersey. There he conducted his Masters of Science thesis
research on the "effects of soil pH on the uptake of iron, manganese, zinc, copper, and boron by cool and warm season forage
grasses" in Soil Chemistry Studies, completed in 1985.
Past experience includes gainful employment in academia, government
and industry.
Gary joined the York County Conservation District's team as the Communications and Education Specialist
in 1999. The Conservation District created the Watershed Specialist position in 2000, which he accepted. As Watershed Specialist,
Gary assesses, restores, protects and monitors our streams, lakes and wetlands for encroachment, pollution, and degradation,
and he advocates for pollution prevention and abundant clean water in our communities. The Conservation District is committed
to beig an innovative leader educating the public to make the isest choices for conserving and preserving our natural resources.
