The Watershed Alliance of York (WAY) is a coalition of stakeholders committed to being innovative leaders encouraging watershed-based planning, restoration and protection, through locally led conservation, education and stewardship initiatives, in York County and beyond.
The Watershed Alliance of York is a public-private partnership for those who want to help make their communities more livable. Here a broad range of issues are addressed and resources are provided to help make this happen. This web site was developed to serve as a communications center and information clearinghouse to increase the visibility of what has worked for other communities, and to promote a lively exchange of information to help create community sustainability in both urban and rural areas. We welcome your comments and suggestions to make it as useful as possible.
Our website is your gateway to York County's Watersheds and the many people and organizations working hard to restore and protect them to sustain community health, local economies, and quality of life and the environment that we all enjoy and share. It opens doors to all the topic and resource areas and can help connect you to other initiatives, tools, people and organizations.
You will be introduced to innovative examples of creating sustainable communities around the county. You will also be able to link directly to descriptions of these programs and projects and tools that will help you in your community. By clicking 'Suggest a Resource' at the bottom of the page you can help build the 'toolkit' for sustainability.
The website is a good starting point for learning about the many dimensions and integrative nature of building sustainable communities. Enjoy your journey!
